Even when life is dark, you can still see the stars, for the will of God will never lead you where the grace of God cannot keep you.
Indeed there comes that time where nothing seems to work for you, these are moments where nothing seems to appeal to you anymore, friends who use to put a smile on your face, seem so gloomy to you and this is where life looks empty and all you can feel is fear catching up with you on the journey of life.
Let me say this, this moment of sudden confusion may stay for days and sometimes years and believe you me or not, the one who truly fears God, and is obedient to Him is not exempted from such a condition.
Why is this so??? The reason is in the school of faith, you never know what may happen next, For one thing, God wants us to mature in every area of life, but maturity doesn’t come easily. This is not to say that God is the author of evil, because He certainly is not.
I show you a mystery, people with faith are also people with feelings, and feelings must not be discredited or ignored, we are made in the image of God and this includes our emotions too. You certainly ought to listen to your feelings and be honest about them. When a person assumes responsibility for his or her feelings writes psychiatrists David Viscott “he assumes responsibility for his world.”
And certainly Jesus was a man of emotions, for He expressed them openly, his moments of joy, sorrow, holy anger and love. But this is it, don’t stop there, take time to listen to God and receive His words of encouragement.
In the dark nights of life, you may not be able to pray, read or even think, but in these times remember one thing; never lose your trust, because the Lord who causes light to shine out of darkness, shall shine in your heart and bring light to every area of your life that seems to be in disarray.
Again in the school of faith, one basic lesson is God’s will must be fulfilled in God’s way and in God’s time. Isaiah 28:16 says “He that believeth shall not make haste.” Concerning God’s dealing with Abraham and Sarah, God had a gracious plan, and God made a precious promise, but God seemed to be doing nothing! Abraham and Sarah were getting older and time was running out but here was God appearing to them and as His custom was, He was giving them promises, no definite time for fulfillment, no explanations, and no actions to even give them a sense of hope.
But nay let God be true and every man be a liar, for all the promises of God concerning your life are yea and Amen in Christ and so it was with Abraham and his wife. Nothing seemed to make sense, but all they had was the Lords promises. May I say this since the Almighty is not bound by time, it may sometimes be difficult when walking with Him from the natural realm. Time in essence is not a factor to God for God can do just in a day what a period of thousand years has accomplished, for He predates eternity. He is eternity Himself, because He created Time.
Remember it is through faith and patience that we inherit the promise (Hebrews 6:12). Gods remedy for Abraham was to remind him of who He was; I am thy shield and thy exceedingly great reward. For God’s I AM is perfectly adequate for man’s I am not. Your life is only as big as your faith and your faith is only as big as your God. And in the dark night of your life, if you spend all your time looking at yourself, you will get discouraged; but if you look to God by faith you will be encouraged because you shall see the bigger picture of the story amidst the darkness.
In God, we live on promises not explanations and the reason why our relationship to Him is based on faith is that your capacity to understand more of God dwells on your receiving power of faith. For nothing understands God more than faith, and the reason why you cannot see the good in the bad is you are living by the noise around in the natural realm. Always remember God did not give Abraham reasons or explanations; He simply gave Him promises, and such times demands commitment. Since a faith that cannot be tested cannot be trusted.
In the dark night of life, God hasn’t forgotten you, as was with Abraham and Sarah, God was wating for them to be as good as dead, so that He alone would receive the power and glory. It is good in these times to share your concerns with the Lord, even if what you say seems to evidence unbelief or impatience in your heart. This is because in these times the Father of all lies, the devil also speaks making a lot of sense but devoid of spiritual truth and substance.
God is not deaf to your questions or unconcerned about your feelings, and if you can always learn to listen to the voice of silence, that voice of Silence would speak to you in any circumstance.
For thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying; This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand and when ye turn to the left.
Your best days are ahead, keep on believing and never let that smile go.😊
