And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever (1 John 2:17 NIV).
The desire and the craving to acquire and amass wealth, lies at the center and heart of men but many are oblivious of the fact that a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of things that he possesses.
(Mark 8:36 KJV).
Certainly riches, wealth and honor comes from the Lord for the Lord delights in the prosperity of His children.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 1:2 KJV).
Nevertheless it is not the Lord’s will that His children gets attached to mundane things, for the carnal mind is enmity against Him and such a mind cannot please the Lord.
But here lies the answer; for the one who desires to escape from the deceitfulness of riches and from the love for mundane things;
Is one who must delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on its day and night such that he is all the time being washed and cleansed even by the washing of water by the word.
For the law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple (Psalm 19:7 KJV).
Loving the Lord becomes the ultimate goal of such a man not just because he wants to but because at the center of his heart lies a desire to please and love His maker.
So now here is the conclusion of the whole matter; It is people who don’t know God and the way He works who fuss over these things, but you know both God and how He works.
Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33 KJV).
