It was a fine morning during my devotion from a devotional; it was my church’s devotional guide “Streams Of Living Water” As I read and contemplated on the devotion for Wednesday which was entitled;
“Dropping The Physical Sword For The Spiritual Sword” I was led to write this post.
Our devotional life as Christians is very key to our growth especially in the early mornings as that marks the start of our day.
The Lord daily loads us with benefits (Psalm 68:19) and the dew in the morning is as fresh manna which soothes the soul.
So in this blog I will attempt to share what I learnt from my devotion as the Lord laid on my heart to, my conscience bearing me witness and I lie not.
Nothing saves like the word; nothing gives life like the word. The word of God is life and above all no testimony saves like the testimony of Jesus Christ.
This testimony is the gospel; the power of God unto salvation to all that would believe.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV).
This scripture here sums up the gospel in its entirety.
Amidst all the writings you can read, none outweighs the riches and power in the greatest writing of all which is the Bible.
The word of God has a piercing ability, it is apparently the only thing which is able to actively divide and put a clear distinction between the soul and the spirit.
It’s cleansing effect supersedes any other and by it a man can keep his ways pure (Psalm 119:9 KJV).
What more could we ask for??
Only if a man will give himself wholly to the teachings and instructions in the word, will his profiting appear to all.
Give yourself to the word, preach Christ and see the mighty hand of the Lord upon your life.
