A New Perspective (You must believe in God’s love for you)

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him (1 John 4: 16 KJV).

Did you know that God loves you?? Wait! don’t be too quick to answer that. You may know that God loves you.

But do you believe it??

Well! John tells us in our opening verse that he also knows that God loves him, but he didn’t stop there, he goes on to say that not only does he know, he also believes in God’s love for him.

Interestingly, this same John is the only disciple who refers to himself as the disciple whom Jesus loved. Of Course, I don’t believe Jesus loved John more than the others, but John appropriated God’s love for him.

That was a choice he made.

Now, you have also known about God’s love for you. But that is not enough. Have you appropriated this as John did??

How do you see yourself and how do you call yourself? Do you see yourself as God’s beloved, or as just one of His children.

Do you believe what He says about you? Have you ever thought of Him as a Father and not just a God? Have you known Him as a friend and as the one who calls you the apple of His eye?

Well! these are just questions you need to reflect on personally. You are no ordinary person, yes! You.

You are God’s very own special possession, one He jealously guards. When you begin to see yourself this way, then you will understand why God says;

He will strengthen you; help you and uphold you with the right hand of His righteousness (Isaiah 41:10).

He shall never put you to shame; nor suffer you to be moved. All things will work together for your good because He has loved you with an everlasting love.

That is the heart of the Father towards His children, towards you and towards me and I choose to believe it.

Do you??

Shalom🙌🏻
